I don't get this scenarios, I mean, I am pregnant, if my doctor says/suggest something, I will 100% trust him because he sees and treats daily pregnant women, and I know that I am just scared because everything is new for me. I would never disagree with a doctor and his recomandations. Yes, the C Sections bring more money to the Hospital, and, he still knowa better.

This hits home, c section saved my life and my baby. I had preeclampsia, they tried induction and ended with an emergency c section. I was lucky.

This is bull shit in medical cases what’s the doctor decide is the best for both the mother and baby goes and there are a few cases that has to be a C_ C-section one of them is when the baby is big and the mom has preeclampsia along with the babies position a C_C-section is not the end of the world and the more it’s delayed the more dangerous the situation gets

The doctor here is very courteous and addresses problems based on her expertise. The African-American pregnant patient felt like she's being discriminated and her concerns were dismissed based on her skin color. In reality, she was not. But she felt like it because she has this preconceived idea that people in the hospital might treat her differently because of her skin color. That was her problem. The way the doctor recommended the C section can be the same if the patient was white. But since the patient is African-American, her guards were up. She was in defensive mode. She felt like the white doctors do not care as much as they do with white patients. Was she wrong? Yes. It was all in her head. Consequently, since she did not follow the doctor's recommendation, based on what was happening, I think she was having abruptio placenta. She was bleeding internally due to premature separation of placenta from the uterus. And this causes severe abdominal pain due to the tetanic contraction of the uterus. The patient felt like she was being treated indifferently even if it wasn't the case. The enemy here was herself, not the doctor.

You can’t even blame her for not trusting the doctor.. she didn’t explain her options to her. And it’s not a lie that black women pain are most times been dismissed. 😏
