ssd cards are actually the worse option for long term preservarion though. SSDs are not recommended for long-term "cold storage" (unplugged and stored on a shelf). Because they store data as electrical charges in flash memory cells, those charges can slowly leak if left unpowered. Under average conditions, data can begin to degrade in as little as 1 to 2 years.

The SSD is only storing the installed game files, not ownership of the game. Steam verifies that the logged-in account has a license to play the game.
So if someone handed you one of those SSD "cartridges":
❌ You wouldn't automatically own the game.
❌ You couldn't play it unless your Steam account also owns the game (or it's a free-to-play title).
❌ It isn't equivalent to a physical cartridge from older consoles.

I assume it works like desktop shortcuts for steam games, it just executes the run command for that game when it’s ran but the game is on the ssd

A logicky ten počítač/notebook musí mít port který podporuje ty vysoké rychlosti. Jinak to sice poběží, ale loading bude noční můra. Vím jaké to je hrát nové hry na takových discích 😅

Yea , but 7$ x 300 games at least would be around 2100 to have every game , unless you add more games on one ssd than just one.
