@cristalallure: As a mom, you don’t get to choose when life will test you. You just show up & stay calm even when your heart is breaking. You hold their hand, you pray, and somehow, you find gratitude anyway 🙏 We’ve been traveling as a family for almost 8 years, and we’ve never experienced anything like this before. While riding our bikes through a forest in Austria, Abella was involved in a terrible accident that turned into a serious medical emergency involving her right foot. It all happened so fast. There was no one around, no cell service, and no cars were even allowed in the area. I’ve never seen my daughter in so much pain, or my husband so afraid. Yet in the middle of one of the scariest moments of my life, the only thing I could pray was, “Thank You, God.” Not because she wasn’t hurt. Not because everything was okay. But because she was alive. Niko, despite being terrified himself, found the strength to carry her nearly 2 miles back to where we could finally get her into the car and rush her for medical care. Watching him do that is something I’ll never forget. I’m still processing everything that’s happened. We’re taking it one day at a time, and right now our only focus is helping Abella heal. This experience has reminded me that gratitude isn’t reserved for the good days. Sometimes it’s what carries you through the hardest ones.
