I work in the fraud department of a financial institution and unfortunately this is all far too common. Scammers take advantage of highly empathetic, highly educated, overall amazing people 24/7/365. If you’ve ever found yourself in a similar situation, just know you’re not alone and that what happens in the dark will ALWAYS come to light somehow, some way. There’s no shame in talking about your experiences and getting second opinions from friends & family when something doesn’t feel quite right. 🫶💖

A lot of people are being harsh on the bride, so I just kind of want to balance that out and say I could see how this could happen. Especially to a young couple that doesn’t have anyone really close to them helping them navigate what is normal and not normal in the wedding process. I also think some people underestimate how good at manipulation people like the “ planner” can be.
