Julia was right!! The couple who should’ve gone was Mica and Samraj. I don’t understand the argument that there’s still “so much to explore” in their relationship just because they haven’t said the L word yet etc. Saying “I love you” isn’t the only measure of whether a couple has had time to develop; they’ve already had the chance to build a connection, explore their feelings and show viewers what their dynamic is like. Ellie and Fin on the other hand, are still in a stage where they’re figuring things out and seeing whether they can rebuild and move forward. Ellie clearly genuinely likes him and she doesn’t have another connection in the villa, so dumping him would essentially end her entire Love Island journey because of someone else’s mistakes. If his actions were serious enough to warrant him leaving, that’s a different conversation, but it doesn’t make sense to punish Ellie when she’s the one who is choosing to give the relationship a chance. From my understanding love island is about exploring connections and seeing where they can go. Mica and Samraj had already been given that opportunity, whereas Ellie and Fin still had a story to unfold. The fairest and smarter decision would’ve been to send Mica and Samraj home.
