When we travel, I'm always the one driving. My husband always has a beer if we stop to eat, and I usually drink coffee to stay more alert for the trip.

Welcome to Portugal. You can even buy a beer at some McDonald’s restaurants. Drinking isn’t illegal. Driving over the legal alcohol limit is. We simply expect adults to act responsibly.

Lie. It is not “just for highway drivers”. There are passengers, too. And even people that sleep overnight in RV’s. Drivers are there too, but they should be responsible for what they drink, as a matter of law, even if they are at home prior to driving.
