i remember expressing to my family members how i was having thoughts of having to end my life and my babies life so demons didn’t get him. that i believed there was someone living in my attic. i eventually called the postpartum help line at the hospital i gave birth at, they never returned my call. the only thing that separates someone like her and me is luck. that’s all. this is so sad.

She cried out for help for months and was prescribed different cocktails of medications (red flags), she called numerous crisis hotlines and denied. She voluntarily admitted herself and was discharged saying nothing was wrong. This woman was crying out for help and the medical system failed her, her husband & those poor babies!

the doctors that prescribed the medication are LARGELY responsible. They do not need to be in practice anymore . And she’s begged to be admitted. She was a harm to herself and others . That’s usually grounds for a 72 hour hold at minimum .

Only 1% of women who experience postpartum psychosis live to tell what happened about it… or at least that’s what a documentary told me about it, but it’s severely understudied for a reason

That list of medications and the dates they were started, changed, etc, is devastating. She should have been hospitalized to get her meds straight. I don’t know all the facts but sounds like her providers failed her miserably.

she was failed. meds thrown at her and nobody listened to her. nobody gave her a break offered a hand nobody stepped up when SHE was admitting im breaking. We need to do better.
