Sometimes when you're on stage you get thrown into a situation and you have to comment off the cuff... many times I've said something that I instantly regret. American fans cut her some slack... she is young and also unless you were there then you don't know the situation. Also I'll keep reiterating this... if you're an American and you're ashamed of that then please put your money where your mouth is and move away and make room for immigrants who would give anything to live here in this wonderful "not perfect" country that has so many opportunities!
