I did a Costco shop for me. Costco shop for the kids. That's what made me stop. £200 on booze. The kids ship was full of food. I was and still am ashamed of myself.

so true I'd spend $5 everyday on a tall boy and another $20-$40 on the weekend just on alcohol. Almost half my check was going to alcohol and it makes sense why I was struggling.

Coming home from a 12+ hour shift and enjoying a cold beer is completely normal. Inflation is literally so high with the cost of everything. Rent, mortgage, interest rates, sober or not sober doesn’t change the economy at all when people make good money and like to enjoy a cold one after a long day at work. Gas prices and inflation to most sober people is still impossible to save money. Drinking excessive every day/bars is one thing yes but a small case of beer on a grocery run to enjoy after a hard day is not going to make it so people can’t save money. The economy is making it impossible to save money.
