Alhamdullilah this does make sense, the sheikh is is trying to say that it's permissible to ask because you never know the manner in which Allah will provide.. For those who disagree, why do masjieds ask for donations and have money boxes., ask to build maktabs, ask for your zakaat to be sent to their organizations..its also asking. If the argument is that we can't ask, then it must be for everything else as well..imagine not being able to ask to use someone pen to write something because you need to ask Allah alone..If you make shukr to a person, it's like making shukr to Allah, because at the end, the true source is Allah

I think some of you guys have misunderstood the Sheikh. There was no mention of asking the deceased for help.The sheikh was explaing how we should understand the verse "you alone do we worship and you alone do we ask for help." this ultimately goes back to concept of tawakkul putting one's trust in Allah swt. We can ask people for assistance but we believe that Allah swt is ultimate source of help. We go to the Doctor for help for treatment but Allah is the healer,basically using the means in this world but Allah swt is musabbibul-asbaab.We should have ghusuthann and take the outward reality of the sheikh's speech.

I hear the bother saying that his time is almost up? The question is who gave him the time in the first place to speak what he just spoke? I mean who is giving them their certificates? misleading your Muslim brothers and sisters. May Allaah guide him back to Islam or break his back Aameen
