Love you Madeline. I lived in this area the fires are affecting First Nation people. These are mostly fly in towns so no roads in. My dad worked for years in these reserves. One town was burned to the ground. Its not always people just building on the woods for fun. Climate change always effects Indigenous people first. The city people get the smoke.

Hi, Im in Ontario. This past year our government has decided to slash funding for a ton of environmental supports. Also introduced and passed laws that made previously protected land developable. This wasn't a surprise. First nations communities have been most heavily effected , as always .

Yeah the climate crisis is hitting us in Europe as well! In the Netherlands we broke multiple temperature records before the summer even started. We had one week with like 5 wild fires going on which is SUPER RARE in my country. We don't have enough rainfall and 900 extra people died from the heat alone this year! And the summer has barely started! The climate is rapidly changing and many countries here in Europe are not ready for it!

Canada used to allow indigenous peoples to maintain the forests with controlled burns etc. We started prohibiting that Exceptionally Important Practice in the 80s... this is why the normally expected fires are so much worse. Climate change isn't all about CO2.

While I agree with you on most things, climate change is not only caused by capitalism. Eastern European countries like Czechoslovakia, Poland, Yugoslavia burned coal like crazy in coal power plants without any filters, in Czechoslovakia they demolished hundreds of villages and cities just so they could mine coal there, the smog in the 1980s was extremely bad there

The forests burning right now in Canada are boreal forests , they aren't supposed to burn at all.
