In Ontario Canada I was able to keep what was remaining of my inheritance in a savings account back in 2000. The other part of my inheritance that I used to pay household debt wasn’t considered. 🇨🇦

The way I wouldn’t have appealed 😭 actually I sometimes regret not appealing a case I had, everyone says I settled on half of what I should have got, my legal team did want me to appeal but it’s all too exhausting I cut my losses and moved on with life.

When my ex & I broke up & sold our house the benefit was split 50/50 but the entire time we lived there (6 years) I put way more into the mortgage/bills & my dad increased the house value by installing a lot of electrical work. Should I have fault for a higher percentage in the house sale? The reason I didnt was because we each put money into a ‘joint’ account & bills were paid from that. But I worked more/earnt more than him so I put a lot more money into that account for 6 years 😭
