OK, I’m a big fresh tomato sandwich lover and yes, white bread is superior, doused with mega dollops of mayo, preferably Best Foods which is west coast’s Hellman (I will forego said sandwich of there’s only Miracle Whip), but never have I ever decided to go open face. I’m putting this on my to do list this afternoon! 🍅 🍞 PS, if I’ve run out of mayo (blasphemy, I know) I’ve been known to smash avocado into the bread which works in a pinch.

Open face is the only way to go. With Maldon salt on top. Always Duke’s for me, after growing up with Hellmann’s (and Miracle Whip 😂)

Agreed on the duke/helman’s. I prefer Helman’s…. I like the fluff. But dukes is good too. It’s tangier. The point is it’s mayo. It’s fat and acid.

Made my first one of the season with some Cherokee Purps from the yard the other day. Went open face with eggs over medium. Washed it down with a High Life bc I didn’t have any sweet tea. Perfect lunch.
