Built between 1997 and 1999 in extremely limited numbers, the Pajero Evolution is not your average SUV. This is a factory-built off-road racing machine, designed by Mitsubishi and Ralliart to homologate their monstrous Dakar Rally competitor – a vehicle that went on to win Dakar multiple times. As a result, what you see here is the most extreme Pajero ever built, and one of the most collectible performance SUVs of the 1990s. Under the bonnet is a naturally aspirated 3.5L 24-valve V6 MIVEC engine, delivering around 280PS through a dual-range 4WD system with Torsen differentials. It’s paired with a specially reinforced suspension setup, long-travel double wishbones, and wide-stance bodywork to match. The flared arches, functional bonnet vents, and Ralliart badging make it clear — this is no ordinary 4x4.
