Do not forget. Major oil importing countries like China possibly India have dropped their imports to offset a lot of this. But even with that, the fact that oil is still under $100 a barrel is worth remarking on.

The consequences of this war with Iran would haunt the United States for years to come if not decades. History offers no shortage of cautionary tales: Napoleon’s march into Russia, Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union, the Soviet Union’s own disastrous foray into Afghanistan. In each case, a great power, driven by overreach and the illusion of swift victory, launched what proved to be its final foolish campaign seeking an extraordinary gain, yet setting in motion its own unraveling instead

Saudi Arabia doesn’t have any political consequences for sending in ground troops. If I were Yemen, I’d rethink this strategy.

It does not take multi million dollar missiles to take out Shahed drones. APKWSII has been around for a decade. It's 35k a pop to take down things like Shahed drones with F15s, F16s, F18s, Apaches etc.

If that happens US and Russia will be the sole sellers of Oil. So, it's not in US interest to end this conflict and the blame is shared with Iran and US.

Gas prices are high because refineries are getting blown up in Russia and the middle east. There is more oil than the refineries can handle, causing oil prices to fall and gas prices to skyrocket. Even russia is exporting extra oil now cause they dont have the refining capacity. This will not get better until new refineries get built, which would take years if the fighting stopped today. In fact it will get much worse as more refineries are blown up.
