It’s easy to think when you’re finally loved after being starved, that you’ll take it all in with grace. Bask in the joy of finally being held. But no one tells you at midnight, you’ll try to hack up all the love for fear it’s going to choke you. You’ll feel the withdrawals, of finally not clawing at love’s door. Your wounds will close off bit by bit and you’ll fear proof you’ve only been hurt by love is now gone. Like a child locked in a house with a big window, he runs outside and exhausts himself in an hour. He doesn’t know how to be there, how to slowly take in the view. It’s exactly the same as finally being loved.
