Sailing Yacht A (SY A), at almost 143 meters, is considered the world's largest sailing yacht. The yacht was designed by Philippe Starck (not Tony) and built by Nobiskrug in Rendsburg. Construction costs were estimated at 400 million euros, with its value estimated at around 530 million euros in 2022. It belongs to the Russian billionaire and oligarch Andrey Melnichenko, founder of the fertilizer manufacturer Eurochem. His main residence since 2009 is on the Suvretta slope in St. Moritz, and he also owns a 1,000-square-meter holiday home in Brione sopra Minusio. This superyacht, however, was confiscated. The reason for his Swiss residence: Switzerland offered the billionaire ideal conditions. Who came up with this? Firstly, his fertilizer company Eurochem relocated its headquarters to the canton of Zug in 2015. Secondly, he benefited from the so-called lump-sum taxation for wealthy foreigners in Graubünden.
