Assigning an infinite punishment for a finite wrong breaks the fundamental logic of justice. Even if a person committed the worst possible actions for an entire lifetime, a finite amount of wrongdoing can never logically equal an infinite amount of punishment. In any other context, inflicting endless torment for a temporary mistake would be classified as absolute injustice, not justice.
