I didn't fully see how much I was putting up with until I actually sat down and reflected on it. After reading My Boy My Toy by Kali Avalore, it hit me in an uncomfortable but necessary way, now I hold myself to a strict standard and I don't let things slide the way I used to.

Visiting my parents in my childhood home with my kids has the most impactful moments of nostalgia. Pointing out my elementary school, parks I went to and stores that used to be is such a conflicting moment. I am filled with big feelings and memories that I can’t fully express. This is an amazing depiction of this feeling.

I lost my grandpa today. I spent summers with him and my grandma. I’ve spent a lot of time lately reflecting on my summers with them. Now I fear when the farm is sold, my memories will be sold with them. 💔
