@elise3d: I used to think I had to do everything myself and live on hard mode to be a “true artist”. This is simply not true, you are allowed to use different tools to help you. You do not have to start from scratch everytime. Realize that most other artists are utilizing different tools as well as working with other artists, and rarely do artists do every part themselves.
Box cutter was the best purchase ive made for blender

It somehow feels criminal to use base meshes, but it can be such a time safer 😁

the thing about a lot of studios doing these things is that it's to save time and money so they don't have to pay their artists to make things that are otherwise simple. like spend time on a base mesh. if you're still learning you should be making those things because you need the experience and practice. you don't have to still but I would definitely advise you to in that case.
also to add to the list. using ngons. sue me

Reusing existing assets you made is so real! The amount of time I saved by reusing parts 😳 I struggled modeling wings so I made a decent base with good topology and just been reusing that with small tweaks if it needs them!

Ah, funny you mention that I was actually about to make a video about this. 🤗 Most tutorials start completely from scratch, but in a professional workflow it’s actually very, very rare that I don’t start from an existing base mesh, especially for characters.
Thanks for pointing that out! And thanks for watching. best of luck to you! 😊

That's exactly the way... I am bad at rigging and waightpainting so ich use MPFB for custom basemashes and rigging, clothing... it's save time at all and I can Fokus on my game engine. I spent so many hours to not understand what I did and this is frustrating...
