@grangersmith: Another tough post here. Speaking to Christians—do you trace your salvation back to repeating a “sinners prayer” in a church or camp? That may be a poison in your water like it was for me. Lots to unpack so you’ll have to hear the full explanation in the video. My desire with this is that the Lord would break free a few that might hear me out. I wish someone had shared a message like this with me 20 years ago. All comments welcome! I have no desire to harm someone’s assurance. This message is for the one. #poisoninthewell
1,000%!!! I don’t know if it was just my generation but I feel like we were almost traumatized to salvation, rather than out of love for Jesus and true repentance. Praise the Lord for his grace & mercy! He deserves it all.

Amen! I absolutely agree. I am 55 and thought I was saved when I was 10. My whole life I thought I was good and going to heaven. About 4 years ago, I realized I was not. I now have a personal relationship with Christ and follow him daily. So glad He woke me up. Praying others realize this also.

The church I attended to does the sinners prayer it kinda drives me crazy because where I come from I think we should let people choose in there own timing when they want to get saved not force them. Depending on how they feel with the spirit if they feel the spirit that’s good. But I feel like the preachers be forcing them to make a decision and I don’t care for. It’s like someone handing you drugs and you say no, and they force you to take them.

That’s why I don’t do Religon. It’s about a relationship. You only answer to God. Not man.

Isn’t that all of church and sermons pretty much? You can provide the information and the invitation but it’s up to the person taking it in to take it to the next step in their personal relationship with Christ. I don’t think altar calls or “sinners prayer” give false hope, I think they give an opening. If doing that brings one person to the Lord, He’d want it done. It’s our job to plant the seed. That’s my belief.

a lot of altar calls like you mentioned are looked at as a "one size fits all" kind of salvation ticket. a lot are done blindly with some thinking they're doing "God's will", but satan isn't scared to use people just because they have a podium or platform. I believe he 100% has infiltrated what millions of people think true salvation is. it gives people a false sense of security, and what better way to keep people stagnant and out of the enemy's way than making them think they got their "One Way" ticket punched and ready to go, just to get to Heaven and hear, "Depart from Me, I never knew you." I think this also opens up the convo for "babtism", and babtism of The Holy Spirit. they are different. very different.

Honest question. Jesus said if we “boldly declare…” why are we encouraging people to “secretly” declare a relationship with Jesus? I believe it’s creating people who desire Jesus as Savior- but not Lord!
