As a teacher, I can 100% imagine how hilarious my teenage students would think it was to get me interrogated by the government for reasons I don't understand.

Something similar happened with the kkk in America. All their codes were given over a children’s radio station

Little bit of trivia: in ww1 military tried to use boy scouts for espionage, they stopped and started using girl scouts because boys were way too chatty about war secrets

So D-day almost got delayed because American soldiers couldn't keep their mouths shut around non-military personnel. Got it 😅

That ”won ww2 single handed” was sarcastic right? US waited until the war was won until you did anything. So that had to be sarcastic.

Just for factual context. The US made up 47% of the soldiers used in the D Day landing. So quite a high proportion, but just in the minority.

I feel like this is realistic - adults don’t worry so much about what kids hear. The kids knew the words but didn’t understand the significance. And those words are awesome so I could see sharing it with the teacher. I’m guessing after the interrogation when Dawes found out about how the kids knew the words he told them to never mention it as they could have gotten themselves & maybe many others in deep.
