What may look unusual to us is often their way of coping with an overwhelming world. Many autistic children experience sensory sensitivities to sounds, lights, smells, touch or taste. Imagine having several of these sensitivities all at once. Staying calm and focused wouldn’t be easy. These behaviours are often not attention-seeking or “bad behaviour.” They are ways of helping themselves feel calmer, safer and more regulated. The next time you meet an autistic child who is stimming, I hope you’ll choose patience over judgement. thanks for the info..only that medical professionals shoud do more research on the cause of it.. I am in my 70s n my frens n I with grandchildren all have a few each with this syndrome..there must be a cause to it..In my days many families have many children but very few or none at all in our kampungs have this syndrome
