I'm Indonesian. My grandfather is a Dutch. He had two wives. European one and local Indonesian one. He had 3 children with the local one and 2 with the European one. Then in the struggle of Indonesian independence, my grandfather return to Netherland brought his European wives and her kids. So I know I have one dutch uncle and aunt. They might have kids which means that I might have dutch cousins. I not aiming for money or help or anything. I economically stable. I just wish that my children meet with their relatives in Netherland somewhere in the future. Well, that is if they don't mind. The only clue I have is a photo of my grandfather with both of his wives.

Thank you for making a video on our people! 🫶🏼 While Indos were able to “integrate seamlessly” into the NL, they weren’t necessarily welcomed by the native Dutch population. In South Africa it was different as the Afrikaaners who were Dutch settlers were banned from marriage to other races during apartheid and that's why interracial couples are very rare here in south africa 🇿🇦 even though apartheid ended over 30 years ago.

You know when I went to the Netherlands I was quite surprised by the lack of Indonesian food. I saw way more restaurants of other Asian cultures. But maybe I wasn’t in the right areas 🤷

There is usually alot of immigration from colonies or former colonies of European powers to the Europe 🇪🇺 especially the former coloniser.That explains the diversity of Great Britain and France as they had very large colonial empires 🇬🇧
