My most recent breakup wasn’t due to infidelity - but he left because he decided I would never be thin or pretty enough for him and that he could do better. And this was after I lost over 100 pounds and put so much work (and money) into a major midlife glow-up! Having someone you loved deeply tell you that you will always be fat and ugly in their view is such a kick in the teeth, and I’m definitely still rebuilding my confidence after that.

you look good, i think you ate! ❤️this might not work for everybody, but after leaving my cheating abusive ex and working on rebuilding my life, spite is a great motivator—i refuse to let somebody ever run my life or control me like that ever again, and knowing that im in a healthier space and i will be a far better, empathetic, kinder person than he’ll ever be helps me keep it pushing. womp womp for him, he missed out 💀

You know what - you may be starting over, but you had the confidence to leave when you realized it would never work with him! And that’s huge!!! So many people do stay because they’re afraid of what life might look like without their partner - even if that partner betrayed them in a fundamental way. But you took the plunge, and that’s amazing! Because if you stayed, you’d be building on a broken foundation, and that can never be a path to happiness or emotional security.
