@drterrysimpson: Beloved Jurassic Park star Sam Neill passed away at age 78 from pneumonia, a stark reminder of the common respiratory infection's severe risks. His passing underscores a massive public health challenge in the United States, where pneumonia remains a leading cause of hospitalization and death. #samneill #rip #pneumonia #learnontiktokcontest #edutokcontest
On a death certificate, the immediate cause of death is listed as the condition that directly led to passing (pneumonia). The cancer would be listed as an underlying cause or a significant condition contributing to death …..

In my early 50s, I got lots of upper respiratory sh*t…sinus, bronchitis..and eventually walking pneumonia. The pneumonia was scary. I live by myself…and still remember that one night I would cough 3x & inhale 2x…so exhausted…my phone was beside me ready for 911. I was so scared. Next day Urgent Care but ooof. 15yrs later I take allllll the vaccines & haven’t had upper respiratory stuff since 2022 Omicron. Steady as she goes💙

I had walking pneumonia in my 30s. Don’t know why they call it “walking” since I was knocked off my feet in bed for days. It was awful!

I received a pneumonia vax last year at 51. Is that it? I plan on living another 40+ years…surely I will need a booster at some point, right?

Hubby just had a friend in his 40s die suddenly from pneumonia. In good shape and not a smoker, not even an extra pound on him. Called in sick Wednesday, died Sunday morning. Absolutely tragic.

Damn! 22 yrs ago, pneumonia. Also a week in ICU. Daughters crying at foot of my bed. Swore to myself I'd quit smoking if I got out. Did quit and never had a nicotine pang from day one at home--couldn't understand this and just accepted it. The mind can do amazing things. Thank you, Doctor.

I had pneumonia as a 4 month old baby and it resulted in a collapsed lung. I’m now 62 and almost every time I get a cold, I have such problems with my lungs (coughing, congestion, bronchitis). Could the early pneumonia cause life long problems?

My 20yr old child had pneumonia and the hospital picked up it was causing heart strain! Only needed antibiotics but it was eye-opening to see someone so young had measurable impacts beyond standard symptoms.

Thank you Dr. I’m 65, and in my first year of college developed pneumonia. I was young and healthy and it nearly did me in. Every time I’m offered the bac, I take it.

Im glad to hear from you. Mum went into hospital with a UTI and on two litres intravenous water and antibiotics a day, one week later she got pneumonia. They put her on palliative which took her five days later. The gurgling she was doing when i was told she had pneumonia, she stopped the minute they stopped the water and started to dehydrate. I have so many questions about why she wasn’t woken back up when the gurgling stopped

long long ago you had to stay in bed if you got pneumonia. I was 12 and I wasn't allowed out of bed. Dr came home 3 days and gave me penicillin shot. darn thing hurt. what changed, no bed these days.
