some species of avocado actually do change color when ready to eat. they go from green, to dark purple almost black

there are other avocados in which they start of green, and when ripe they turn dark purple or black in color

not all avocados seed gets lost inside. it's impossible for avocados to ripped on the tree. the finger is left attached to the avocado in order to reduce moisture entering the fruit.
