TARA 😌🐴💜 Tara is a 21 year old Mustang mare, whose name (pronounced tar-ah) means “star” in Hindi and Sanskrit. She is simultaneously gentle and strong. She embodies the energy of the earth with her quiet confidence and grounded nature. She is sweet, enjoys her solo time and fully indulges in nap time and crunchy green grass. Not to mention she has the most luscious mane and tail of all! When we welcomed Tara into the herd, we were told that she originally came from the wildlands of New Mexico. However, according to the BLM, Tara was born in a holding facility in Oklahoma. This likely means her mother was captured while she was pregnant with Tara, but we’re not sure to which herd her mother belonged. Tara was adopted out around the age of two from this facility and somehow made it to the central coast of California. We were told she last lived with a small herd of cattle in south county, all of which were horribly malnourished and neglected. Tara spent around a year in the SPCA’s care before a friend of the sanctuary found her and alerted us to her need for a forever home. Tara has completely captivated our hearts and keeps us on our toes with her wild Mustang magic. ✨ Tara suffers from digestive issues and requires targeted supplemental nutrition to keep her digestive system balanced. If you feel called to help support Tara and her wellness needs, you can donate on her behalf as part of our #GivingTuesday initiative! Click the ‘Sponsor a Horse’ link in our bio and select Tara as well as any amount you wish to contribute. Anything and everything is greatly appreciated! 🩵🙏🏼 Suggested: $200 for a month or $20 for a day With much gratitude we express our thanks to each supporter of our nonprofit horse rescue sanctuary. Your support means the world to us and our horses. #Nonprofit #donation #donationdrive #HealingJourney #horserescue #monterey #centralcoast #rescuehorse #animalrescue #carmel #carmelcalifornia #montereycounty #centralcoastca
