Take any text, analyze it. Make a meta analysis of it. Make a meta analysis of the meta analysis you made. Continue the same loop until you compressed meaning into being.

People that think LLMs of any size are actual intelligence are falling prey to that old adage that sufficiently complex technology appears to be magic.

Tell me you don’t understand mechanistic interpability without telling me you don’t understand mechanistic interpability. J-space has been replicated in non-reasoning models.

he basically said that our ancestral basic intelligence can be compressed out of large language models and he's trying to call that super intelligence. That's just normal human logic. how did he get to super intelligence? there is no super intelligence

okay but first you have to prove …. compressing the total of pattern matches stats and predicting tokens ….. is not more compressed uncertainty… go for it friend

is what he is saying in part that if you took every biological node in our system now and replaced it with latest Gen reasoning models they will run a temporally compressed simulation where progress accelerates due to the higher average functional intelligence and lower cultural/social friction? And that becomes the societal component of the sister technological similarity, a sudden governance revolution that wraps up within a few months for the next revolutionary cycle, a few weeks, next days, hours, minutes, as updates become trivial, the very first was the hardest - biological to electronic functional reasoning. every iteration after the first phase transition is rapid

Ai is gonna tell us the best way to govern all of us is NOT letting rich people work us to the grave and that is why there are restrictions on it. Our governments are all failures, ai could come up with something that is beneficial to us all in like a second, but they won’t implement it because it’ll mean the rich and powerful losing their wealth and status.

this is being a hypothesis that I have had in discussions with people about AI that tell me that AI is just pattern recognition and will never be superior to the human brain. and I thought well isn't the human brain just eons of pattern recognition through evolution? what's to say that AI won't have a similar evolutionary track?

They want AGI so bad, like they wanted uploading your consciousness into the cloud so bad. Notice they don’t talk about you living eternally in the cloud anymore. This is the new materialist fable. And it isn’t going to happen. We’re about the see the materialist version of the 1844 “great disappointment” happen. I wonder what the splinter cult of effective altruism will look like once it sinks in that their AGI fantasies are not coming true.
