Also, is it a hot take to generalize Alex o Connor into pop philosophy? I know he's supremely educated but his content seems more arrogantly provocative instead of curating a genuine philosophical discourse?

I always find it so confusing that "modern" and "contemporary" are not synonymous in so many areas. (Architecture, Dance, Ethics, etc).

I wish i could understand what you’re saying, but i don’t get it. What are we supposed to do with our perceptions?
.
Would it not be circular to use our ethics to judge the results, and then use that judgement to modify our ethics?

These are topics that I find fascinating but that are so abstract that it’s difficult for me to wrap my head around them.

kevin i got a new topic to ask your opinion on because i feel like this is kind of insane (no offense to people who think this way). is secular music actually something people think is sinful??? i saw videos of christians who were trying to cut out non-worship tunes. sounds like a boring way to engage with one of the most beautiful forms of human innovation: art. is that actually something some christians believe they have to give up? gosh.

I actually watched his debate with ben shapiro and Alex O'Connor and he admits that he can't ground his ethics in anything because he has realized the difficulty of not being able to ground it objectivity. He understood that a theists can with god and I think that's why he has such a difficult time. He can't quite find a primitive or a stabilizer to justify his ethical thinking because he actually understands religious ethics really well and understands the force at which it can be argued, which I give him credit for.

I have a question(might be a little silly): when it comes to fundamentalist beliefs claiming that you are held morally accountable for your disbelief in their specific God, would that be an impossible moral obligation because you cannot prove or disprove God? Or is this just me using positivism, which is bad epistemology?

Kevin have you done a video on contractualism? If not can you do one for those of us who found it very plausible based on the show “the good place”?
