Quick tip, if you have a lake, and it freezes over in the winter, which most likely this one does since it gets -40 like you say, then that entire lake is devoid of fish. Fish eat mosquito larva, no fish means that ENTIRE lake is a mosquito 🦟 breeding haven. Either stock that lake yearly or just move. Also there’s mosquito traps that use heat and co2 next to a vacuum, but it probably won’t put a dent in the population

there's a homemade solution that works really well, you take a large fan, you have it blow into a cage made out of screen. the mosquitoes go into the fan, lured by a CO2 dispenser. they get blown into the screen cage and desiccate. this is a very quick way to get rid of thousands of mosquitoes.

Get a huge fan. Like a huge warehouse fan. Put a big sheet of mesh screen on the back of it, like the kind you use for a screen door. Run the fan outside in the area you are working. They get sucked against the back and they’ll die

check out a documentary call "Unnatural Selection" it's a docuseries about "crisper" in which they use it to "hack" the DNA of mosquitoes and make it so that they can only reproduce males. eventually killing off the population. very interesting and scary at the same time.

Permethrin. Live in South Louisiana I hose my entire property down with it spray boom on my atv. Keeps them gone for awhile
