I will never forgive my abuser. I forgive myself for not knowing better, for not being able to leave sooner, for not seeing the manipulation. I don’t waste energy being angry at him… I focus all of my energy on rebuilding the pieces of me that were lost in that relationship. He had seven years to change his behavior and be forgiven. I have the rest of my life to love myself.

I had to bury a version (I yearned) of my mother because I knew she would never change... she will ALWAYS be a narcissist and I had to accept that. Like bojack horseman, I don't think I will feel much when she passes and it sucks.
