I say options, options, options. Let users select what best works for them. Some demographics never use Apple ID or even have a Google account. Many people have never even heard of GitHub. Magic links are good but sometimes people use emails that they don’t have access to all the time (ones they only keep on their home computer and not their phone for example). I maintain that it is always best to add options to your sign in. Let them choose the best method for themselves. It’s not even a choice they have to make so there is not decision fatigue because they’ll have already developed a preference for a sign in method. Also allow phone number.

Why can the world not just agree on one password structure - 8 characters, must include a letter and a number, must have a capital letter and must have a punctuation. Done. None of this 12 characters malarkey or repeating numbers not allowed

I would disagree. you are dropping one of the several layers of security. You are omitting the " what you know" (password) and relying on just "what you possess" (email or phone).
