Weevils took over my pantry and got into everything years ago!! Had to get rid of tons of artisanal flours 😭 Now everything goes in the freezer for a week before transferring to glass!! Those fuckers are the reason I have so many Weck jars!

As a Chinese who eats rice almost on a daily basis. I have never seen weevils in real life, didn't even know what they are until I started scrolling in TK. It may be the way we store them? Or we just eat them faster before the weevils show up? 😆 Our family usually buy a giant bag and store then into a rice container.

Rice weevils are inevitable unfortunately I have a super clean organized home and air tight containers I haven’t had any in years but i remember this one time I didn’t store my rice properly and they literally appeared . Just wash your grains you should be fine to eat it still btw . Only if you want

they’re weevils. def check your other stuff and lay some traps out. As for the article since the watermark is there, it is embedded and not uploaded so it is legally permissible to do that without your consent. If the watermark was not present then it would be copyright infringement.

That’s why I freeze my grains when I bring them home for 5-7 days and then I sift them into the air tight containers I keep them in

I made a sensory box for my daughter once with rice. Stuck it on top of the kitchen cupboards once we were done and totally forgot about it. For MONTHS we were finding these bugs everywhere. Couldn't figure out where they were coming from until I found the box on top of the cupboard. Weevil city 😂🤦♀️

They can eat through plastic bags so be careful! I work at a grocery store and was cleaning the rice shelf one day. That was when I first discovered them! I watched so many eat through the bag they came in. Also the procedure they use at work is to freeze them for a couple days to kill them. I heard they could really take over your pantry.

Every time I buy a bag of rice or flour I like to add a few bay leaves in so that doesn’t happens, basically what the bay leaves does act like repellent. Hope it helps 🙏
