And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.” Many Muslim scholars have pointed to this verse and interpreted: * Sinai as referring to the revelation given to Prophet Musa (Moses) عليه السلام. * Seir (associated with the region of Edom, near Palestine) as referring to Prophet Isa (Jesus) عليه السلام. * Paran as referring to the area of Makkah, connected with Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through the descendants of Isma’il (Ishmael). Based on this interpretation, the verse is seen as alluding to the successive missions of Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad ﷺ. Christians and Jewish commentators generally interpret the verse differently, viewing it as a poetic description of God’s manifestation to Israel rather than a prophecy about later prophets.
