Not rlly. There’s many larpers who pretend to understand dazai bc most people have that hero complex plus he’s a very attractive character. But only a few understand Dazai in a deeper level. I understand most characters from bsd but that took some psychology research

It takes a lot to understand either of them. Both their characters r so complex but dazai is indeed shown more than chuuya so it's a bit easier to get a good grasp on his character so I think i understand what ur trying to say

I think dazais character is obviously complexed while chuuyas is much more subtle. You can see thousands of ppl talk about what a nuanced character dazai is under his facade but little people realise that chuuyas personality as well is a facade of his true emotions

Chuuya means so much to me. He’s so loyal no matter how many times he’s hurt or betrayed. Even when the Sheep tried to kill him, he still found a way to protect them. He just wants to know who he is, to have family and people he can rely on and in return for giving him a sense of belonging, he devotes himself to that person or organization. Even after years of not talking to Dazai he still trusted him and it makes my soul ache.

a person who is not a good or bad person, because even though Chuuya is a mafia member we cannot deny that he also has a good heart it takes a lot of courage to forgive someone for their mistakes but Chuuya does it even though he knows that he got hurt, Chuuya also had the worst past ever in my opinion because he got taken when he was a child, forced to be experimented, lost his memory because he does not remember having parents or even the rest of his childhood, was a street rat, got betrayed by his friends who he treated like a family, his own so called brother also killed his friends in the mafia who was also close to his heart, experienced being electrocuted again, and all of that he experienced when he was just 15-16, Chuuya also got betrayed again by his own partner who he thought would always be by his side dispute always arguing and by the last chapter of the manga most of his coworker's died, so in my opinion he won't have a break anytime soon🙃(I havent read the stormbringer so I don't know if all of this is true but it is based on what I saw or read online)

This- but also you’ll never truly understand him. Every person is different no matter what. There’s many things you don’t even understand yourself and you know yourself better than anyone. Even if you can’t put a label on yourself doesn’t mean someone knows you better. You can NEVER fully understand a person. Living things are far more complicated than we think. Also think about this before you go ahead and say you know everything about someone in real life. Because you DONT.

to understand chuuya it doesn't necessarily take a soul, anyone can understand anything as long as they want to and have an open mind, but to relate or understand his soul, it really does his such a unique and different character I love him
