Unfortunately, his current foster can only keep him through Sunday, July 19, so he urgently needs a foster takeover, rescue, or adopter to keep him safe. The resident dog the current foster has does not like male dogs. Big Bird had been struggling in the shelter, where he stopped eating and required medical care. Since leaving the shelter, he has the opportunity to continue healing in a calm environment, but he needs somewhere to go before his current foster commitment ends. He has been diagnosed with a fractured upper canine tooth, mild anemia, and inflammation, and is receiving treatment. A quiet home where he can continue recovering will give him the best chance to heal. He has an appointment today to see a specialist for his tooth. 🐶 About Big Bird: 💙 Enjoys being around other dogs and has done well in playgroup. 💙 Needs patient people who will let him settle in and build trust. 💙 A calm, low-stress environment will help him continue making progress. Big Bird has already gotten his second chance by leaving the shelter.
