I think it goes hand in hand with framing sex as something inevitable and that has to happen in an individual's life at some point. This made some people believe that sex is something that "happens to them". Making sex both a need, and an event that you cannot escape makes some people prone to submit to social pressure (act like you feel the " need" like everyone else) and get abused (like a young person being told to just let it happen and have fun)
