Aaaaaaand what no one seems to admit or point out about any of this is that Wanda was not hurting the Phoenix itself, only it’s hosts which were weak to begin with. The Phoenix Five were unstable and uncoordinated and unable to truly wield the power. But even then, they were holding back because they didn’t WANT to be villains. Emma herself said she could’ve shut down all the Avengers’ minds with a thought if she wanted to, but she didn’t WANT to. And keep in mind, the whole time the Phoenix Five were active and moving through their plans, Wanda and the Avengers were hiding in Kun Lun to recover from the fight that nearly incinerated Hawkeye, to which Wanda was unable to stop and had to stand there behind a shield and watch helplessly. The only one of the Phoenix Five that was able to truly give Wanda a run for her money and absolutely rock her shit was Cyclops, especially after he took all the fractions of the other four into himself and became a Dark Phoenix. He took on Wanda AND Hope at the same time while Hope was mimicking Wanda’s probability hexes, meaning he was tanking double the blows, beating them both with no effort. Jean herself had to step in and kick him out of the WHR because neither Wanda or Hope could stop him. And I’ve said it before and I will always say it because TRUE comic readers know. WANDA DID NOT BANISH THE PHOENIX!!!! It was stated IN THE COMIC that Hope was the only one with the power to claim agency over the force and let it go!! The only thing Wanda did was offer emotional support and remind Hope WHY she was the one with the power to let the Phoenix go after fulfilling its purpose, because she knew what needed to be done to correct the damage she caused. She helped Hope to let the Phoenix go so it could return to the WHR and heal. And keep in mind, the entire AvX event was literally an orchestration of WPOTC Jean from within the WHR to reset the timeline and erase the damage of Wanda’s chaos wave on the multiverse.

I also hate that people show that one panel of hope punching Wanda but not the panel before it. Where it shows they actually stopped fighting but you see hope make a devious smile in the bottom corner before she hits her chest
