Claudia's ghost wasn't Claudia. it was a set up between Lestat and Merick to bring Louis back to reality; they kept making eye contact with eachother and signaling. Fraudia 2.0 made too many contradictions in her monologue and whatever spirit "possessed" Merrick (if she even was) screwed up by looking at Lestat and calling him Louis, as the spirit didn't know who was who. Earlier in the episode, Louis asked Lestat "why are you being so nice" because Lestat knew what was coming.

i can see where the idea that it could be racist is from, and i’m not saying it’s not- but i also kind of feel like it could be that this is just how the story is set up. the first seasons were louis’ pov, and i think there is a LOT we are missing from him and claudia. i also feel like a lot of last season was showing how shitty lestat could be, so maybe they want to show that louis and lestat are both equally toxic. but i mean just the way the story is told is meant to leave questions and gaps. we will never know how much of what we saw was true and how much louis/armand made up or forgot in the first seasons
