That always confused me as a kid (American here) 😭 Everyone around me showed love and appreciation towards their mothers, but whenever you watched TV, every mom was portrayed as a bitch basically trying to ruin her kids' and husband's lives. I suspect it was more the work of annoyed husbands on the writers' team or something? I never understood why they made families so dysfunctional in sm kids' media

also pregnant women. i feel like american people get like, idk, irritated? whenever they see a pregnant woman. they HATE that they need some accommodations and stuff like that. it’s almost like they view pregnancy as something that should be considered a punishment. this country is super weird.

también lo he pensado y mi mamá y yo creemos que los papás/mamás Estadounidenses no se involucran con sus hijos, son distantes ps les dan comida, casa y ya que ellos vivan, no hay pláticas importantes o amistad madre-hijos , es lo que vemos en series y películas, y contenido

I agree but lowkey Asia does this too. It’s actually really rare that a mother/female family member actually helps a woman in the kitchen and the body shaming culture is horrendous 😭 not to mention mothers are expected to do more than fathers 💀

Oh for crying out loud, just cause you guys in comment section had a terrible parents doesn't mean everyone else had one. Some parents are strict but not abusive. You guys only had this mindset that your parents did terrible while they just doing what a caring parents would do.
