Fed is best. As long as baby is thriving. Doesn't matter if it's formula or breast milk. Fed is best

“first day of school no one can tell who was breastfed or formula fed” i saw that and made it so much easier! 💕

It’s so weird to me that people on the internet are asking if influencers are still breastfeeding? It’s no one’s business and it’s sad that you have to explain yourself on a topic you already said was sensitive!!! You do you girl!

as a peds nurse, fed is best, point blank. I have seen many things that i cannot write here but a happy fed baby is best, i cannot stress this enough

I am choked up listening to this because this was me for my first baby. Something that helped me a little bit is asking myself “do I think other moms are bad moms for feeding their baby formula” and I was always like “heck no!!!!!” so be nice to myself.. ❤️‍🩹 but I get it. I understand everything you said — DMER and all. I’m sorry you went through this.

as someone who exclusively pumped for a year I would NEVER recommend it, it’s actually the hardest way to feed your baby and so so hard on your mental health. You’re an amazing mom ❤️

This is the same story for me and my daughter. I never made enough and everyone said I was doing things wrong, but some bodies just don’t make enough. I used a shield as well and she didn’t latch well and lost weight. I felt all the things you felt. It drove me insane.

Watching this 6 months postpartum and had to switch to exclusively pumping this week. My supply tanked all of a sudden this week. Thank you for talking about it! It’s mentally hard. But happy mom = happy baby!!

Girl, i am so proud of you for putting your mental health first and not being stuck on breastfeeding if that wasn’t your journey. There is NOTHING wrong with you for not producing more. Sometimes when you start to stress about your supply then that stress will affect your supply if that makes sense. Either way you are doing amazing, you have amazed me from day one. Never think for one second that you are failing, you are doing the best you can do with the resources and tools you have and with that being said your worst is better than some others best so keep your head high that baby boy is healthy and strong because of you (and Bradley).

What you experienced is normal & way too common for women now. I’m so sorry. Exposures to bottles in the hospital or right away always kill baby’s motivation to feed at the breast. Doesn’t help society is glamorizing breastfeeding instead of talking about it realistically in depth. It takes months to teach your baby this skill & to see them improve, as well as to regulate your supply. Took me 3 months to see real improvement! Biggest mental struggle to keep going. It’s hard for both of you, but a journey that is so worth it when you stick to it! Bottles can be tempting in the beginning, but next time trust your instincts & just feed on demand & it will get better. Just know it will be a whole new level of newborn tired 😪 But put baby to breast as often as they want & the majority of it will work itself out. TRUST your body! DMER eased for me after month 4. If baby has any ties or issues they can be fixed by seeing a lactation consultant. Praying you can try again next time & get your turn to experience the beautiful bond 🥰 I always say every mom should atleast once!

To anyone pumping, put all the parts in a big Ziploc bag and keep it in the fridge for the day. Just wash once a day!

Had the same exact experience with the breast so painful I was crying he was crying, any breast milk you were able to provide is amazing. Had to keep telling myself those same positive affirmations we have to give ourselves grace you did your best! He’s happy and healthy ♥️

If you're in Washington, check with your hospital or healthcare system! Many offer in-home lactation specialists, and they're often free or covered by insurance. They were so much more helpful.

It’s so hard to feel so conflicted about feeling sad that breastfeeding didn’t work out the way you wanted. And I’m glad the message of “fed is best” is out there enough that most people have heard about it, but that doesn’t mean you don’t get to feel disappointed that you weren’t able to have the experience you wanted to have 💕 there isn’t anything wrong with you or your baby, it’s just that everyone’s unique and you just don’t know how it’s going to work out until you experience it.
