@miriamezagui: Is hair covering oppressive? It definitely can be if the person is not given a choice but what if I do so willing? Does community pressure play a role in my decision? How’s that different from societal expectation to wear a wedding ring? Are we all conditioned to wear one or is it our free choice? #oppression #religioustrauma #headcovering #religion
Girl, pink is your color!!! Took my breath away when your video came up!

I wonder if you can explain to me this, I’ve always wondered… if you wear a wig that looks exactly like your real hair what is the difference? I’m genuinely asking from a place of respect and wanting to learn more.

The societal pressure is real though especially in the orthodox community. If a married woman didn’t cover her hair, the community would talk about her and judge her.

Who needs religion. I had a husband control everything I wore. Thank God I finally smartened up and left him.

Good for Aaron! I know whether Muslim or Jewish this is non negotiable for some men and that part is where it gets the bad stigma of oppression but many women do choose on their own and that is how it SHOULD be. The wraps are stunning btw.

But wearing a ring isn't hard like covering the hair. I'm jewish, even traditional (I keep Kashrut) and I think covering the hair is oppressive and there is a great pressure for orthodox women to cover their hair.
