After my last relationship, I really thought maybe I was asking too much. I wanted someone who was kind, who made me feel safe, who loved me for exactly who I was, and after everything I’d been through I had just stopped believing that person existed. I remember thinking I’d probably just stay single forever, focus on my business, be a good dog mom, and be okay with that because it felt easier than getting hurt again. Then Dalton came into my life and completely changed what I thought love was supposed to feel like. The first compliment he ever gave me was that he thought my stretch marks looked really cool. I’ll never forget that because I had spent so many years believing those were things I’d have to hide. Then the other day I was bent over petting the dogs and all my loose skin was hanging down. I caught him staring at me, I asked what he was looking at, and he just smiled and said, “I just really like the way your loose skin looks right now. It looks really cool.” It sounds like such a small thing, but it meant so much because I never thought I’d find someone who looked at the parts of me I was the most insecure about and genuinely loved them. Not just tolerated them, not ignoring them, but loving them. He’s the only one I’ve ever felt safe around to just be me. If you’re with someone who has you questioning your worth, feeling like you’re hard to love, or convincing yourself that you’re asking for too much… you aren’t gf. Maybe you’re just asking the wrong person🫶🏻
