Being judged on someone else’s wrong doing and judging is tough til you learn to ignore it. Us having to comply to prison rules and learn how things work with no one to ask. Putting some things on hold whilst waiting for them to come home. The hardest part of prison family life is when life has its difficulties, and you’d ordinarily have your partner to lean on. We feel bad off loading to them and they feel frustrated they aren’t there to support fully. It’s defo not for the weak

It is the hardest! picking up the pieces ie kids, bills & mortgage. We are fortunate to keep everything but for some it's not always as possible. In doing the sentance I have lost who I am & have stopped looking after myself! It is not to be Glammed up, so i can't wait to find me again too x

I feel as a parent it affects you in many ways. firstly it's like grieving for someone who's still alive. Secondly there are some people that will judge you as a parent for your Son/daughter been in prison. Thirdly, the visits never get easier, I still cry when I come away after 18 years, Fourthly, worrying what is happening to them, how its affecting them and so much more. The list is endless.

they sure do ive spoke to many familys on visits they have to change their lives to fit in with the jail term also they hqve to console kids n fill in your gap

It’s so hard mate my son when away when he was 16 he’s now 20 still In getting no support with a lad with adhd and autistic he did wrong but he has a disability it’s a horrible experience I feel like it’s broken me
