I'd only recommend that you check the slope of your yard. By the looks of things, you have a part that is downwards sloping towards the house....you want your house to be on the higher end of the lawn, that way water doesn't slope towards your house and cause erosion on your foundation.

I highly recommend looking up how bad weed membrane fabric is for literally everything. and doesn't stop weeds. I ripped it up in my front when I did a bark front.

I used a piece of membrane in a small area by my front door and put flint gravel on it. A paver placed on top is always damp. When I get time I will remove it. I don't think they are good for drainage.

Redrow by any chance? No thought to what they threw down in ours, we’ve since had it done professionally but not before I attempted it myself out of desperation at 35 weeks pregnant (also in a heatwave) 😂 Good luck, looking forward to seeing it when finished 🥰

if that's the same membrane I've used in the past I think it folds over to make it bigger as well that's only half of it . could of maybe gone long way instead of small pieces

weed membrane is the worst in a couple of years dirt with gather over it and weeds will grow into the fabric

That plastic weedmembrane really isnt good it doesnt let the water through. U should of gone for the fabric weed membrane which also isnt amazing at weed control but in my opinion still better than the plastic variety
