yes.. he passed “one big beautiful bill”.. that limits fafsa funding. don’t stress, mines was high as well! i don’t know how, i’m not questioning it because God worked his miracles for sure!! He has you as well, it will be handled. try your local WIN Center, tell them that you are a first generation student on the path to nursing school. they offer help. also apply for any and every scholarship you see. anything is better than nothing❤️!

They have emergency funds/scholatship i found out last semester .. i owed $3k before graduation. Her office is next to the business off

I owe close to the same amount before I can graduate 😭 & I only need 7 hours to graduate and they told me there isn’t no emergency funds available anymore.

I grew up on campus, had campus jobs in undergrad and got kicked out of class my 2nd semester because I was purged out due to lack of funds. But God! We gone get you right! Where you from? Email your hometown’s alumni association- they typically have a scholarship. Make sure you’ve applied for Foundation, then go pay the office a visit and tell them your situation. (grades decent, right?) Your dept may also have a separate program from work study where you work and those funds go toward school. It’s some leg work and face2face, I know, but it helps.

As an Alcorn Alum please APPLY for the parent plus loan, they helped me a lot!!! Also, there are foundation scholarships.

I would say have your parent apply for the parent plus loan. It only works if your parent has bad or no credit! They’ll then get denied and you’ll be able to contact your aid office and they should raise your loan amount or add a new one

They did the same thing to me…I paid 20-40 on my bill and then I did the payment plan…and went in the billing office (Washington building) and told them I couldn’t afford to pay that much monthly (they had mine set to almost 2000) then I talked to my moma about it and we did the Pell grant…the Pell grant is basically a loan for school in your parents name…it covered all of my bills and books…I had money left over(I gave it back to my moma since she helped me get the loan but you don’t have to if you don’t want to). I still have an outstanding balance over 9 thousand dollars right now…that’s why I haven’t finished…but be careful and watch your bills cause they charge for everything…and make sure you’re using the library and the printing area, and going to the games cause you’re being charged for it…might as well enjoy it
