He lost everything. He lost his mother, he lost his padawan, now he’s scared he’s going to lose his wife. He can’t go back and can’t go forward. Anakin was let down by the Jedi council who ultimately allowed all of this to unfold. He could have been helped, he could have been saved, but the order always viewed him as a weapon. The order really didn’t care about their own people. They didn’t care enough about Ahsoka to believe her, Master Unduli didn’t care enough about her padawan when she thought she might be dead. No one in the order cared enough about Anakin except obiwan but even him was brainwashed to a point where he couldn’t really help him.
