I had a 94 year old guest staying at a hotel I worked at while his wife was in hospice. He asked for help with our washing machine, I thought it was just because ours were a bit different but I found out he’d never down a load of washing in his life. He’d never used a vacuum or done the grocery shopping or cleaned the house. He started crying and said ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do without her’. He never said anything about who she was as a person, just what she did for him.
