Jennifer's Body and Sucker Punch were both formative movies for me and, similarly between the two, I believe the nuance and deeper meanings of the films were lost on the crowds they actively marketed toward at the time.

It’s kinda poetic that the marketing follows how the movie plays out. Young boys and men going into someting with the promise of smexual content, only to be “tricked” and in the end displeased with the aftermath.

I remember hearing somewhere that part of the movie is actually based on a real crime that happened, which is the beginning when she gets sacrificed, I wish I could remember the case, but it was essentially the exact same, a wannabe band sacrificed a girl to get famous

I like to think they tried tricking teen boys to watch it to better understand SA bc thats basically the plot. and this movie came out around the time red pill content doubled in media. however, I dont think most men/boys actually got the memo😬

I think it’s properly marketed. Men went to go watch it based on what she looked like. They saw a young woman who was mistreated kidnapped by men. She was turned into a monster and kill a bunch of guys that thought they were getting lucky. I think it served its purpose well
